Sanggar Seni Naradha Gita (Nagi), co-founded and directed by I Putu Arya Deva Suryanegara, is a Balinese gamelan and dance collective dedicated to innovation and preserving traditional repertoire. Our mission encompasses creative exploration, comprehensive learning programs, and the integration of technology to create and document our artworks. We aim to share knowledge and inspire a new generation through our “NAGi Melajah” program and “Live@NAGi” series. These initiatives also provide a space for local and international artists to create new works for gamelan and engage with the community through workshops.
The group has worked with many local and international composers, including I Ketut Cater (ID), I Made Mondana (ID), Dion Nataraja (ID), Barga Sasrawadi (ID), Evan O’Donnell (USA), Zachary Hejny (USA), Sarah Lecompte-Bergeron (CA), Émilie Payeur (CA), Antoine Goudreau (CA), and more. They regularly perform new creations and traditional repertoire, which has been watched by audiences in Bali, Indonesia, and worldwide.
Our Projects
NAGi Melajah

NAGi Melajah is an ongoing series of workshops on various topics related to music and technology. It invites local and international artists to share their expertise with the community.
Live@NAGi

Live@NAGi is an ongoing series that brings to life live performances and produces recordings from new works by Nagi composers or collaborations with Nagi musicians. This event aims to offer a unique opportunity for composers and musicians to create new works for gamelan, including technology, and share their creativity with the community through collaborative efforts.
Education

Nagi gives access to our studio and teaches those who want to learn gamelan and dance, from beginners to advanced. This program aims to provide space for Nagi members to teach and learn and to make gamelan knowledge accessible to broader audiences.
